Privacy Policy

Overview

DesertEBS (desertebs.com) provides free online developer tools. We built this site with privacy as a default — not an afterthought. All tools run entirely in your browser. No text you paste, no file you upload, and no hash you generate is ever sent to our servers.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Text or files you paste or upload into any tool
• Hashes, encoded strings, or diff output you generate
• Passwords or sensitive values entered into any field
• Your IP address (beyond what your ISP and browser expose by default)
• Any personal account information — there is no account system

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited and how users navigate the site. Google Analytics collects anonymised data including page views, session duration, and general geographic region (country level). We do not use this data to identify individual users. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by using a browser with tracking protection enabled.

Cookies

We use one first-party cookie to store your preferred colour theme (light or dark mode). This cookie is stored locally in your browser and contains no personal information. Google Analytics may set third-party cookies for analytics purposes as described above.

How our tools work

All computation on this site — JSON formatting, Markdown preview, Base64 encoding and decoding, URL encoding and decoding, text diffing, hash generation, slug generation, password generation, and world clock display — runs in your browser using JavaScript. Data you enter into any tool never leaves your device. You can verify this by opening your browser's DevTools → Network panel while using any tool and observing that no outbound requests are made.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics (see Analytics section above)
• Google Fonts — IBM Plex Mono and IBM Plex Sans are loaded from Google Fonts servers
• Vercel — hosting and CDN infrastructure

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
